One of the nation's leading experts on brain development visited Lake County as the keynote speaker for the Crossroads Conference on Childhood Trauma on Friday, May 16. Daniel Siegel, MD, is author of "The Mindful Brain: Reflection and Attunement in the Cultivation of Well-Being."

Siegel and other experts were part of the day-long professional conference which attached 150 participants from around the state. The childhood trauma conference was co-sponsored by Crossroads and the Lake County Alcohol Drug Addiction and Mental Services (ADAMHS) Board.
